Prof. Tobias Feldmann

Tobias Feldmann has captivated audiences with orchestras such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Orquestra Simfonica de Barcelona, Frankfurter Museum's Orchestra as well as Brussels Philharmonic, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec, to name a few. His long list of collaborators include conductors such as Marin Alsop, Hannu Lintu, Guoyong Zhang,Nicholas Collon, Łukas Borowicz, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Fabien Gabel, and John Storgards.

Highlights of season 2019/20 include debuts with the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg, and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. He will also return as soloist to the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra and Adana Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he will be “Artist-in-Residence” with the Neubrandenburger Philharmonikern. Recitals will bring him to Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Alte Oper Frankfurt, to the Vinterfest in Falun, Sweden and to the Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

Being an avid chamber musician, Tobias Feldmann appears regularly in a variety of ensembles, performing at prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Vienna Konzerthaus, Beethovenhaus Bonn, Berlin Philharmonie, the Kumho Arts Hall Seoul and at high-profile festivals such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Schubertiade Hohenems, Tongyeong International Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, Moritzburg Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Lockenhaus Festival. Musical partners include Julian Steckel, Maximilian Hornung, Boris Kusnezow, Tabea Zimmermann, Istvan Vardai, Kian Soltani, Deniz Kozhukin and Nicolas Altstaedt among others.

Born in 1991 in Fulda, Germany, Tobias Feldmann received his first violin lessons at the age of seven and already one year later he changed to the advanced placement class of the Musikhochschule Würzburg before completing his main course at the Musikhochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin with Antje Weithaas.

In April 2014, he released his debut CD featuring works by Beethoven, Ysaÿe, Bartók and Waxman with GENUIN, which immediately attracted widespread praise and attention from the international press and critics alike. His second recital recording with pianist Boris Kusnezow was released in 2017. Tobias’ third album released his first concerto recording in May 2018 featuring the concerti of Sibelius and Rautavaara with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royale de Liege with Alpha Classics.

At the beginning of 2018, at the age of 26, he was appointed to a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, making him one of the youngest professors in the history of Germany.
